Band Of Builders Doubles Life-Changing Projects For 2022

Charity organisation Band of Builders (BoB) has announced ambitions to complete 12 projects in 2022, doubling the life-changing projects completed in 2021 for fellow tradesmen and their families who are facing hardship.

Builders Merchant News reports that the registered charity, which helps members of the UK construction industry who are facing injury or illness, is already mobilising its members ready to double the number of projects completed in 2021, and has set its aims to head to Plymouth, South Shields, and tackle its first project in Northern Ireland.

Gavin Crane, the Chair of the Board of Trustees at BoB, said: “Requests for support have hit an all-time high from tradespeople right across the spectrum of the UK construction industry, and we are taking BoB to the next level to help as many people as we can this year”

Crane added that none of it would have been possible without the help, generosity, and commitment of the charity’s members and the tradespeople who provide their time, experience, and skill for free, and help to deliver such life-changing projects for those in need.

He said that BoB has ‘amazing’ support from the industry, but added that every little bit helps, and the charity always welcomes support, whether financial, materials or anything else.

The charity will also be continuing other vital initiatives, such as the Big Brew, which will return in October, and encourages tradespeople to come together to have a chat over a cuppa, and aims to remove the stigma that surrounds mental health in the sector, at a time when suicide rates for construction workers have been estimated to be as high as two people every day.
